Today, we have met Professor Sayeba Akhter ma’am, the world famous gynecologist known for her discovery of low-cost uterine balloon tamponade (condom catheter). Ma’am has been relentlessly serving underprivileged women with obstetric fistula free of cost at her MAMMS hospital and won the “Ekushey Padak” in 2020. She has been newly appointed as a member of the Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC) by the ministry of health.
Ma’am highly praised our initiative. She also told us, “We cannot think of research-orineted health system of Bangladesh if we cannot introduce it at undergraduate level.” We formally approached ma’am to be our Faculty at the club and to guide the students.
Upon our surprise, ma’am donated 50,000 Taka as a blessing to establish DMC-RAC instantly.
